Visit the beautiful Life-sized Nativity Scenes on Calvary's premises!

A collective effort of the Christian churches of Santa Monica

Glory to god in the highest, And peace on earth!

For unto us a Child is born...a Savior who is Christ the Lord

-- Luke 2:8-20

Each year since 1953, the city of Santa Monica has celebrated Christmas by hosting a series of Nativity scenes assembled by local churches to tell the story of the birth of Christ.  Originally, 14 independent, life-sized scenes lined Ocean Avenue in Palisades Park.  In 2011, atheists opposed to the religious displays were successful in influencing the city’s decision to end all unattended displays in the park.  While the displays no longer line Ocean Avenue on public property, we are incredibly proud that the life-changing story of the birth of our Saviour is still being told on the grounds of Calvary Baptist Church!  Our Lord’s message of Peace, Hope and Salvation is still alive and well, and being presented on 20th & Broadway, 24 hours a day.
